Video Tutorial for Motif and Feather Ring

I quilted up a motif and feather ring on Lisa's Beautiful quilt.

This video is very un-professional, but you'll get the idea of how I do them by watching it.

I also wanted to share a couple of things, I didn't mention in the video.

The arch ruler is by Renae Haddadin.
The green ruler is by Gadget Girls
The circle template is by Linda's Electric Quilters

I switched my top thread to a dark tan for the feather ring.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  2. Great video and I like that the designs are continuous with very little marking! Your daughter did a great job too, she zoomed in so we could see you stitching the designs out very well.

  3. Wow! You are so very talented! I am totally impressed with your quilting, you just make it look effortless!! Do you accept flimsies through the mail to be quilted? Your daughter really did do a good job filming!

  4. Beautiful quilting! Great video! Great job on getting close-ups, too. I was really glad she zoomed in every chance she could. That's what I am usually wanting more of on other how-to videos.

  5. Well I think it's an excellent video, your daughter followed the action really well.I hate it when I can't see what's going on, but she kept up with the changing angles so that I could follow exactly what you were doing.I think you should congratulate her. Definitely employ her again!

Such lovely work and you are so confident with the rulers you make everything look easy. It's wonderful to get a glimpse into how you accomplish your beautiful designs.

  19. So inspiring! No motion pills needed...kudos to your daughter. Does the marking pen you use disappear with air or do you use water? Do tell as I am new to using such tools and of course fear the worst. May this be one of many more to videos to come.

  32. Love how your fmqing makes this quilt pattern into a Beauty! On Renae's site she has far too many arc sets to choose from... I am thinking of just getting the single arc (for a 12" circle) -- is that the one that you used for this pattern?

  38. I have all my things gathered together to make the mod olive quilt. Is there a template anywhere so that I can check the size of my pieces before I cut them ALL and make mistakes?

  40. I would like to know if you float your quilt tops or do you attach them to the take up bar. Also, if you could explain your reason for doing it this way. Newbie Machine Quilter and trying each way!
