Just started this quilt today and like how it's going. Debra wanted the quilting simple but modern. I initially planned on putting a circle in the small square box, but don't like it. Any ideas? Please?
A box spiral..0r the ribbon candy you are doing in the sash-but do it on the bias. Hard to explain but start small in a corner and go bigger in the center and back small. Or a simple "X" wold look good. Looks great!
It's a very pretty quilt and I love how you are quilting it. I think the idea of the circle was a good one to have something to counterbalance all of the lines. How about a very simple leaf shape or something organic like that?
what about a window grid? depending on the size of the square...stitch a vertical line about 1" in from the side, another one about 1/4" from the 1st v-line, mover over to what spacing is pleasing and do 2 more vertical lines 1/4" apart. repeat horizontally.
what will it look like if it is not too symmetrical...the horizontal lines are spaced differently than the vertical lines. or add an extra line going horizontal.
Beautiful quilt ... great job quilting too. How about a box spiral?
ReplyDeleteOh yes - I agree. A box spiral could work. Beautiful, simple lines.
ReplyDeletei was going to suggest a boxed spiral as well..

I see an X so those lines will kind of look like an arrow.
ReplyDeleteI like all the above but the ribbon candy on the bias I would definately try.
ReplyDeleteI love the B+W variegated thread. I emailed you my ideas. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like very much, great !!!!
